Dr Ben Sheppard established Simfore in 2006 after leading a three year Pfizer research project at King’s College London to develop and run customised simulations, focusing on bio-pharmaceutical, drug development, and public health issues. After initial success of the research programme it was extended to include both private and public sector work. Dr Ben Sheppard has since advanced the initiative into Simfore, a consultancy service, to meet the continuing demand for simulation exercises. His defence expertise covers response measures to terrorism and ballistic missile proliferation. The terrorism research focuses on the psychological and behavioural effects of threats and attacks on population centres, and advising authorities on developing effective strategies for communicating with the public. Sheppard regularly has articles published and presents at conferences. He also initiated and directed a series of conferences on missile proliferation at Jane's Information Group. Prior to joining King’s College London in 2003, Dr Ben Sheppard was a new product developer and defence analyst at the defence publisher Jane’s Information Group. He continues his defence research at King’s College London focusing on international politics and security issues. Dr Sheppard received his doctorate in counter terrorism at the Department of War Studies, King's College London. |
